Christopher Daley has worked in a variety of research, teaching and support roles in higher education. He holds a PhD in English from the University of Westminster and previously studied at Royal Holloway, University of London and the University of Southampton. Christopher currently works at Royal Holloway, University of London as Research Development Manager (Arts and Social Sciences).

As a researcher, Christopher is particularly interested in the ways in which the Cold War has been represented in popular culture, with a specific interest in science fictional responses to nuclear technology. Alongside this, Christopher has a long-standing interest in open access publishing, open scholarship and digital humanities.

Christopher has extensive experience of teaching in higher education as well as a detailed understanding of current and emerging issues in research support, funder policies and scholarly communication. He has also volunteered time for the educational podcast organisation, Pod Academy, gaining experience in producing, presenting and scripting radio productions.

Outside of his professional work, Christopher is a keen cricketer and has a general interest in cricket’s curious role in shaping notions of Englishness.
